Exchange of Good Practices

Countries - Slovakia, Turkey, Romania, Italy and Spain

Duration - 1st Sept 2020 - 31st Aug 2022 - 2-year project

Communication language - English

In our Project, our goal is to help our gifted and extra clever pupils deal with their problems and teach them how to be happy forever in life. Studies have shown that the more intellectually gifted a child is, the greater the risk of social difficulties and unhappiness.

The most highly gifted children tend to have the most difficulty with friendships. It's important to help kids with the greatest social/emotional difficulties as early as possible, with the help of a school counsellor or an outside therapist. Research indicates that giftedness also is associated with intellectual, emotional, imaginational, sensual, and psychomotor "over-excitabilities". Given these problems, one might wonder whether giftedness is more a curse than a blessing. https://scholarworks.uni.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1610&context=grp

As we can see in many articles Howard Gardner and other scientists think that Multiple Intelligence Theory has an important role in educating all individuals, especially the gifted ones. We made lots of research together and try to solve our talented pupils' problems via two modules with 8 subtitles. (In the first year Social problems; with verbal, spatial, interpersonal, and intrapersonal intelligence activities. In the second year academic problems; with mathematical, musical, kinaesthetic, naturalist intelligence activities.)

As 5 project partners, our common problem is to be the best eligible schools in our district. So the gifted ones generally choose to attend our schools. We all have many gifted students and their problems in our schools. We want to compare the good practices in different countries to get the best results. We have known each other for 5 years (implemented a Comenius Project before and dealing with eTwinning projects now) So we are aware of the fact that we have a common problem with our gifted students.

We organized many webinars via eTwinning projects, contacted via WhatsApp groups, and talked about our issues planning the activities in detail, predicting the objectives and results of our effort. All of us agreed to come together to decide, apply the planned activities, and see the results and then evaluate the possibilities of results. We are really hardworking, willing, and workaholic partners.

During the implementation of this project, we want to organize 6 transnational meetings; 2 short-term training events (teachers will have seminars by experts on how to educate gifted students) and 4 students exchange. The students' exchanges are an important part of this project.

„Every child is a gifted child.“
